This discussion paper sets an agenda for how universities can increase their higher technical education provision.
It offers a survey of the challenges higher education providers face to increase and develop technical provision at Level 4-5. Possible solutions to these challenges are offered to maximise the success of higher technical reforms building on the commitments from the Skills for jobs white paper. Universities are responsible for delivering approximately 32% of Level 4-5 provision and are in a strong position to build upon this - whether that is through their partnerships with further education colleges or strong links with employers.
