We promote and protect UK universities by demonstrating their positive impact on student lives, economic growth, public services and wider society. Our communications and campaigning work helps maintain widespread public trust and political support for UK universities.
Our comms activities were first developed with a simple goal in mind: to promote UUK’s policy work and to provide comment to the media. Since then, our work has evolved to deliver so much more.
Today, we provide the inspiration, support and ambition for UK universities to speak and act collectively on a range of issues. These include the need to protect research funding, the future of university admissions, and the impact of Covid-19 on universities.
Informing the legislative and political debate, so the position of universities is fully understood. Making sure this position is represented by the UK government and parliamentarians.
Working closely with journalists to promote the successes of UK universities. Making sure the views of universities are prominent in the media.
Using our knowledge and unique position to educate and inform thinking. Sharing expertise on a range of topical issues in higher education.
Creating content that appeals to people on social media and on our new website.
Developing impactful, multi-channel campaigns that influence public and political opinion on issues that matter to universities.
We want to provide a clear, confident and prominent voice for the views and achievements of our members. We want to showcase what they’re doing for students, communities and society, and for them to be proud of our communications work.
