Support for staff
Council for At-Risk Academics (CARA)
The charity CARA helps academics in immediate danger, those forced into exile, and many who choose to work in their home countries despite serious risks.
The British Academy has announced new fellowships with CARA to support researchers.
Fellowships for Researchers at Risk
A new programme run by the British Academy and CARA to support researchers at risk to continue their research in the UK for up to two years. The first priority will be researchers based in Ukraine. It’s receiving £3 million of government funding from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Student Action for Refugees (STAR)
STAR is a national network of students aiming to build a society where refugees are welcomed. They have several useful resources:

Help for refugees in accessing education in the UK.
Open University: free online courses
The Open University provides a list of resources to support asylum seekers and refugees who want to access free online courses. These include free courses in learning English to information about working as a translator.
UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA)
UKCISA run a confidential and independent advice line for immigration questions.
