Responding to the new set of Teaching Excellence Framework results released by the Office for Students, UUK President and Principle and Vice Chancellor of St Andrews University, Professor Dame Sally Mapstone DBE FRSE, said:
The TEF is a marker of excellence, and the number of awards given this year, including 43 Gold, demonstrates the exceptional quality of teaching and student experience that students arriving or returning to university this September can expect. Not only this, all universities in the TEF have, in order to participate, demonstrated that they meet the Office for Students' already high minimum expectations for quality and standards.
These awards are a testament to the hard work and commitment of staff, as well as providing a helpful marker, to inform student choice and to highlight to universities where they can make further improvements.
The university sector is committed to delivering high quality higher education, and supports regulation that can help it achieve this.”
