Professor Charles Egbu was appointed on the UUK UK Board on 1 August 2024. Professor Egbu is a member of the UUK Resources Committee and has contributed his experience to several UUK groups including the Woburn House Development Group.
Professor Egbu has been Vice-Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University since 2020 and has more than 25 years of experience in higher education.
Professor Egbu was previously Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Experience at the University of East London. Before then, he was the Dean of School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University, where he held the Chair in Project Management and Strategic Management in Construction. He is a member of various external bodies, including the Advance HE Pro Vice-Chancellor Network and QAA Panel of Experts.
