UUKi leads Horizon Europe delegations
Universities UK International is leading a number of Horizon Europe delegations. The delegations will aim to advance research and innovation links between the UK and European partners, as well as help boost UK participation in the Horizon Europe programme.
UK university senior leaders will mark the UK’s association to Horizon Europe, and further develop Horizon Europe collaborations with European universities. Supported by grant funding from the Wellcome Trust, delegations will visit France, The Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Norway (and the Nordics) and Poland from October this year and until February next year.
Delegations will offer open sessions with funders and universities in each country, sharing their strategic approaches to Horizon Europe engagement. They will also comprise roundtable sessions where UK and European universities will take a deep dive into Horizon Europe funding opportunities.
Jamie Arrowsmith, Director of Universities UK International, said:
Universities UK International is ideally placed to take a sector approach to boosting participation in Horizon Europe. We are working in close collaboration with the in-country rectors conferences to maximise the opportunity presented by the UK’s association to Horizon Europe.

Martin Smith, Head of Policy Lab at the Wellcome Trust, said:
Horizon Europe fosters research collaboration on a huge scale, allowing scientists to work together across borders to address some of the most pressing health issues of our time. The UK's resumed association offers the opportunity for researchers to reinstate and initiate partnerships across Europe. It is crucial that the UK remains fully engaged, and the UUKi delegation tour of Europe plays a key role in reinvigorating collaboration through Horizon Europe.
