University leaders from the UK and Ireland will meet in Dublin today (4 November) to discuss research collaboration in Horizon Europe.
The delegation will explore how collaboration between an EU member state and an associated country can strengthen European research and innovation, and consider how Framework Programme 10 (FP10), the EU's next research and innovation framework programme, can continue to support excellence-led international collaboration.
The visit marks the first of three strategic country delegations planned for the 2026–27 academic year as part of a new programme of work, funded by Wellcome, to boost UK participation in Horizon Europe. It follows a policy engagement in Brussels last month where Universities UK International (UUKi) advocated for the UK's full association to FP10 from day one.
The delegation is being led by Universities UK International (UUKi) in partnership with the British Irish Chamber of Commerce (BICC) and British Council Ireland.
