The international recruitment landscape is entering a new era. With the publication of the UK government’s Immigration White Paper, a refreshed International Education Strategy due later this year, and the possibility of an international student levy, universities face critical decisions that will shape their global competitiveness.
At UUKi’s International Student Recruitment Conference, we’ll go beyond headlines to tackle the issues that matter most. Join us at #ISR2025 to:
- Hear from UUKi’s policy experts on the latest proposals om the Immigration White Paper, our lobbying efforts, and practical steps to strengthen your institution’s international offer.
- Explore how the new BCA metrics will reshape recruitment strategies and visa support. Join interactive discussions on what institutions need from government and the Home Office.
- Discuss financial and operational implications, and share strategies to maintain competitiveness while safeguarding institutional sustainability.
- Learn what IDP’s latest data reveals about how policy shifts and financial pressures influence student decision-making. Compare the UK’s standing against Australia, Canada, and the US.
- Collaborate on messaging and advocacy to project welcome and internationalism amid challenging narratives, as part of a sector response.
- Listen to a keynote address from Abtisam Mohamed MP, Co-Chair APPG, MP for Sheffield Central and Chair of the International Students APPG.
