I manage UUK’s media relations, building relationships with journalists and pitching our policy, data and campaign stories to national and specialist outlets. I also lead on reactive media enquiries and help shape how we talk about the sector and universities’ role in the country’s future.
I have spent nearly a decade in journalism, working on the Daily Mail’s news, health and showbiz desks, freelancing for Sky News and writing for regional outlets, before moving into media relations at UUK. I’m also doing a part-time PhD at the University of Sheffield on the Edwardian press and suffragette militancy, which reflects my long-standing interest in how the media shapes public debate and policy.
I love getting to tell the incredible and inspiring story of what universities do, from the research that changes lives in the local communities to the opportunities they open up for students and partners on an international scale.
