Professor Wareing joined the UUK Board as an appointed member on 1 August 2026. Professor Wareing is also a member of the UUK Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.
She has been the Vice-Chancellor of Middlesex University since April 2024 and has a strong record of over 20 years in leadership experience in higher education. Professor Wareing’s experience includes and team development and teaching in higher education. Her current scholarly interests are university leadership and governance from the perspective of diversity and inclusion, digital transformation, and higher education policy.
Professor Wareing previously held the roles of, Pro Vice-Chancellor Education and Student Experience at London South Bank University and Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching at Buckingham New University.
At graduation, I love how excited families of our new graduates are about their loved one’s success. Seeing families’ happiness reminds me about my responsibility as a steward, protecting the benefits of education for generations to come.
