Professor Bartholomew CBE was appointed to the UUK UK Board on 1 August 2025.
Professor Bartholomew CBE has been Vice-Chancellor of Ulster University since 2020. Since moving to Ulster, he has led on the launch of a new Medical School and unprecedented growth of the University’s campus in Derry~Londonderry.
Professor Bartholomew CBE is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a National Teaching Fellow and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Bartholomew has sat on several national groups, including the TEF Panels.
I love working in Higher Education because of the role we collectively play in 'place making' - the synergy of people, place and partnership is what I strive for and is what I have built Ulster's institutional strategy around.
