Professor Jane Harrington has been Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of the University of Greenwich since December 2019.

Prior to this, she was Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost at the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE Bristol).
Jane plays a central role in shaping the institution's long-term strategic direction, creating opportunities for all with a strong commitment to providing an inclusive and enabling learning environment.
Jane’s background is in organisational studies, and she is a companion of the chartered management institute, and a board member of the Kent and Medway enterprise partnership. She has also played an active role in multi academy trusts; serving as a chair on the Cabot Learning Foundation (CLF) and a member on the Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). Jane will become chair of the University Alliance from September 2023.
My passion has always been the power that education can and does play in transforming lives through social mobility. I take great pride in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that enables all students regardless of their background to thrive and reach their full potential. Graduations remain my favourite days of the year as I see the culmination of their hard work.
