Professor Colin Bailey CBE is the President and Principal of Queen Mary University of London. He took up post in 2017.

Colin is a Chartered Structural, Civil and Fire Engineer and a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is a leading expert on structural engineering and fire engineering, and has been involved in reviewing the design of a number of landmark tall buildings in London, including the Shard. He also provided expert advice following the collapse of the World Trade Centre 7 and is currently advising the government on building safety following the Grenfell fire.
