All-Party Parliamentary University Group

The All-Party Parliamentary University Group aims to be the main avenue of communication between parliamentarians and university vice-chancellors. It provides a forum for discussing issues affecting the country's university sector and university research, and in turn how these can influence public policy.

Universities UK has provided the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary University Group since 2013.

The membership consists of senior representatives from UK universities, together with members of the two Houses of Parliament, drawn from all parties. The group holds regular speaker meetings, dinners and breakfast briefings in the Palace of Westminster. Guest speakers, who are leaders in their chosen profession, are invited from all areas of academia, politics, policy making and industry.
