​William Hammonds manages Universities UK's regulation and student experience programmes, including work on the Teaching Excellence Framework, consumer rights and quality assessment. He currently works with the Student Policy Network of vice chancellors and has also worked with the Longer Term Strategy Network.

His reports for Universities UK include Futures for higher education: analysing trends and Massive open online courses: higher education's digital moment?

Prior to working with us Will has held policy research and development roles in politics, local government and consultancy, working with a variety of UK and European organisations ranging from the European Commission to the Arts Council of England.

Will has studied at the University of Exeter, the LSE and the University of Essex.

Today saw a lot of media coverage and fanfare around a new 'degree course ranking' system. In reality, this was simply the launch of a long-awaited consultation on how to implement a subject-level version of the Teaching Excellence Framework.
