​Max Hastings is a Policy Researcher and works to support Universitie​s UK's research, efficiency and sector infrastructure policy areas. Max is a lead contact Open Access to research and Business Rates for UUK, and his portfolio also includes HE procurement, research integrity and asset sharing policy development. 

He has worked in the higher education sector for over 6 years, fostering a keen interest in university policy development. He previously held operational roles in student admissions, registry, course delivery, graduate and research offices and international scholarship delivery at Nottingham Trent University and the UK Higher Education International Unit, before joining us as a policy researcher in 2014.

Max studied a Bachelor of Laws with Philosophy at Keele University and Master in Public Services Policy and Management at King's College London, where he focused on Higher Education policy.
