​​​Gareth leads on media relations for Universities UK. As well as managing the organisation's media and public relations activity, the press office also has responsibility for social media outputs and Universities UK's blog.

Prior to Universities UK, Gareth worked at the European Parliament in Brussels, working for a Welsh Member of the European Parliament. Before that, he trained as a journalist on the North Wales Weekly News.

He studied law at Sheffield Hallam University. He studied also for the NCTJ diploma in journalism and completed a diploma in French at the Sorbonne University in Paris.

Gareth is a first language Welsh speaker and also speaks French.
