Fitting scenarios within your strategic planning
Scenarios should not be viewed as predictions.

Working through what the future might be like helps to explore people's priorities for what the institution does and what its aims should be for the future. A structured approach also helps you to identify and focus on those challenges that your institution will need to be alert to in order to stay successful.

Scenarios can be used at various stages in the strategy and planning process. You can use the thinking around scenarios as a central part of the process or as a specific input at certain points. The flowchart below provides some ideas for where scenarios can contribute.
