Overview:

Universities UK is organising a one-day conference in association with the Centre for Higher Education Research and Information (CHERI) of the Open University and HEFCE on the “The Changing Academic Profession”.

The conference will be held at Woburn House Conference Centre on Tuesday, 22 June 2010.

The conference will launch a repory by CHERI on the , part of an international study, which examines issues such as:

  • The internationalisation of the profession and academic work;
  • The ‘casualisation’ of the academic workforce;
  • The diversity of academics and academic activities;
  • Academics’ engagement with their institutions;
  • Attracting and developing talent.

The conference will be chaired by Professor Les Ebdon, Vice-Chancellor, University of Bedfordshire and Chair, Million +.
